The 2nd Inter-Exchange event between Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. and GEfIL students was held!
On Saturday, October 5th, we held the second Inter-Exchange event at the Hongo Campus with three representatives from Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., including Corporate Vice President Ms. Michelle Baron, who are in charge of promoting DEI* activities at the company, and four GEfIL students.

This exchange event was organized following an offer from Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., which has been supporting GLP-GEfIL since March this year with the main aim of nurturing female leaders active globally. They are specifically willing to have opportunities to interact with female students studying in science and engineering faculties among the GEfIL students. Following the first online event in May, this second event was held in person with representatives from Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. visiting our campus.
The event began with a greeting and expression of gratitude from Professor Kensuke Fukushi, Chairperson of the GLP-GEfIL Implementation Committee (Director of the Institute for Future Initiatives), for the support from Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. This was followed by Corporate Vice President Ms. Baron introducing her career and sharing some of her experiences. Subsequently, each of the four GEfIL students explained the content, experiences and knowledge gained from the GEfIL abroad programs they participated in during the spring and summer, the differences they felt between Japan and their study abroad destinations, their current majors, and their future career paths. During lunch, there was a Q&A session about future careers, work perspectives, and Corporate Vice President Ms. Baron’s experiences, concluding the approximately 1.5-hour exchange event.
For the GEfIL students who participated, although the time was short, having the opportunity to speak directly with leaders active in the global business world was very informative and encouraging as they consider their own careers.
We sincerely appreciate Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. for their continued support for GLP-GEfIL and for providing such a valuable opportunity once again.
